Miss Saigon opening night, the atmosphere that the music and stage design along with the obvious performance of the actors created an exhilarating experience. Although I knew a lot of the story and have had some war-like experiences, the drama that Showbiz unveiled in the première of Miss Saigon was truly spectacular.
After working right-through the Easter break with Geoff Ridley (showbiz General Manager), we managed to deliver the Miss Saigon programme to Rainbow Print on Tuesday morning. Although there were a few hold-ups as the very last edits were corrected, we were calm knowing that all that could be done in 3-4 days had been completed to make an exceptional representation of the show that was about to open. The 36 page programme is packed with images and war-tones of the various era's that the Vietnam war and the post American occupation took place.
The programme managed to get a very sharp emboss on the cover, and there are several other elements of style that were applied to single pages in order to set-off the theme of the page, and to carry the flow of the show.
As an invited guest to view the première, we attended with much excitement, the drinks and nibbles and speeches that followed were very good to be part of also. An excellent première, and an excellent show.
If you have the opportunity to attend Miss Saigon - I recommend it, if you are partial to tears certainly remember to take your tissues. Its a tragic romantics story with plenty of bars, beer, action and girls for the guys - we loved it!
The Miss Saigon programme looked pretty good too - so I heard!
Remember to book.
