What started out as a way for director and artist Mike Coker to show his own works has quickly turned into an exhibition gallery space and has shows booked for the next several months.
July
'Being there' the current show has photography from Peter Harris, together with 'Fine lines', life drawings by Craig Dixon - the opening night was excellent thanks Craig for putting on great nibbles!
August
'Mother Nature' opening 10th August at 5.30pm. This exhibition will see the collaborative works of Japanese style paintings and Ikebana, by artists Haruko Furukawa and Yumiko Akashi. More than simply putting flowers in a container, ikebana is a disciplined art form in which nature and humanity are brought together. The event is expected to be quite an eye opener.
September
We are excited to have the opportunity to exhibit several new works, ‘Rides without frontiers’ by David Woodings, Photo Realist painter. David returned to full-time painting in 2005 - where most of his new work has grounding in works that he has completed during the past 20 years with arcade machines now the focus. Opening is expected to be 1st September at 5.30pm.
October
As a finalist in anthony harper contemporary art award 2009, we are looking forward to see what Steve Tooley has in store for his exhibition. Largely self taught with diploma in graphic design steve says - "I'm influenced by all styles of art and am constantly experimenting and refining my style, so always have new work on the go". Opening night is expected to be 5th October 5.30pm.
November
Printmaker and Painter, Matthew John Walters' last exhibition was at the 'Two Rivers Gallery' in Cheviot - reported to have been an excellent show. There he reported that : “My work stems from a need to question what knowledge is, the difference between knowledge and information, and the value we assign to concepts that are presented to us as one or the other.” We look forward to an interesting subject, discussion and exhibition - opening night is due to be 2nd November at 5.30pm.
